Overview

As we moved to the past 21st century, it becomes increasingly evident that save the environment is a crucial responsibility for the sake of next generations. The preserve your environment for the well-being of future generations is a paramount responsibility that rests upon us today. Our environment, contain the air we breathe, the land we inhabit, and the complex ecosystems, sustains life on Earth. Yet, human activities, such as industrialization, deforestation, and excessive pollution cause pollution on earth.

Soil Pollution, water Pollution, Noise Pollution and particulate matter effects badly on environment . our environment is getting worst day by day due to human activities. change in environment lead to a Global warming , worst air , water quality and increasing the spread of diseases so, it effects your health badly. Minimize waste by reducing consumption, reusing items whenever possible, and recycling materials such as paper, glass, plastic, and metal.

How does environment get polluted ?

Here are several ways that cause to pollute environment. we will discuss some types of  Pollution .

Water Pollution

water pollution

Water pollution now exist in river , ponds, streams due to human activities

It is the contamination of water bodies which include harmful chemical , microorganisms and other substance enter into the river , lake , stream , ponds as a result of human activities.

Causes and Effects

Some reasons that cause water pollution discuss below :

Industrial Waste

Our industries and factories release chemical which include lead , mercury, Sulphur,  nitrogen, chromium, cadmium and benzene are discharge into river, lake, stream and pond which cause badly effect on aquatic living organism. US produce almost 7.6 billion tons of industrial waste.

Oil Tanks

Submarine carry huge oil containers sometime oil spills from container due to accident or other reason when oil discharge into ocean oil make a layer on oceans . Due to this, aquatic organism that live in ocean cannot take oxygen because oxygen cannot enter into ocean due to oil layer as a result, fishes cause disease and eventually cause death. Fishes are main source of food for human that disturb oil spills.

Leaking of Sewage line

If sewage pipe is leaking it spread bad odor, bacteria , algae growth , soggy ground area and water damage to your walls. Human waste water discharged into ocean which grow  toxic algae growth and create death zone . Almost 135,000 sites present around the world that contain algae.

Soap and Detergents

Soap and detergents used in home for washing purpose. These detergent contain toxic chemicals that cause diseases .This waste enter into river, ocean , lake it disturb the aquatic life as well as terrestrial life. When Plants absorb harmful chemical it lead to poison the fruits and vegetables  which cause disease terrestrial organism use for eating purpose . These toxic chemicals also decrease plant growth.

Eutrophication or Algal bloom

Eutrophication is a natural process. This process happen when excessive amount of nutrients present in water. A huge number of living organism grow in lakes, ponds, river and stream. With the passage of time lakes grow large concentration of aquatic plant life. As a result of human activities like human use soap and detergents that contain phosphate, nitrogen ,Sulphur  mixed with water and discharge into lakes that grow bacterial and algae . Such types of human activities faster the process of eutrophication.

Air Pollution

Air Pollution
Harmful gasses spread in our atmosphere and cause bad effect on living organisms

The presence of toxic substance in atmosphere which  cause bad effect on  man health.
Burning of fossil fuel, fuel and release poisonous gasses which include Sulphur dioxide, carbon monoxide, bromine,  iodine , fluorine, ozone, nitrogen oxide etc.

Causes of Air Pollution

Here are the causes of Air Pollution:

Air Pollution due to Natural Sources:

Volcanic eruption may release large number of  gasses and particulate matter which  can kill vegetation by cover the surface of leaves that prevent transpiration and evaporation process. Particles like Sulfates enter into stratosphere which reflect solar radiation as a result cause weather change and it lead to climate cooling.

Air Pollution due to Human Activities:

A large number of industries are source of air pollution . Industries release nitrogen oxide and Sulphur dioxide that is the source of pollutant. Chemical factory, sugar mills, cotton factory, rubber factory and paper mills cause one fifth of air pollution. Cement factory release heavy air pollution and spread dust in air. Automobiles like buses, truck , railroad, ships cause toxic air pollution.
According to research Heart and Lung disease occur due to air pollution . Many other disease which effect health of old, child, adult and pregnant woman.
Ozone level may rise in atmosphere . It is toxic to plant reducing crop yields significantly. It also cause bad effect on human health.

Noise Pollution

Noise Pollution
Noise Pollution cause distraction between people

An unwanted or undesired sound that dumped into atmosphere called noise pollution.
  • A large number of  industries and factories has been developed in cities so, our country now facing the problem of urbanization and industrialization.
  • Most of the houses, school, collages are established near the cities . Due to industries and factories a heavy noise is produce that disturb the student learning and divert their attention.
  • Different kinds of motor vehicle and auto like cars, motorbike, buses, truck, loudspeaker, ships cause noise pollution which effect human mentally and physically.
  • Noise cause disturbance in atmosphere and cause interfere in communication.

How Particulate Matter Effect On Environment

Here are some ways in which particulate matter affects the environment

Air Quality: PM contributes to bad air quality, especially in urban areas where release of gasses from vehicles, industrial activities, and other sources are prevalent. Highly toxic particulate matter can lead to respiratory issues in humans and animals, and it can cause loss of visibility

Climate Change: Some types of particulate matter, such as black carbon or soot , absorb sunlight and involved in warming the atmosphere. In addition, PM can affect on global climate systems.

Ecosystem Damage: Accumulation of particulate matter on vegetation can harm plant health. It block the stomata, where transpiration and photosynthesis process occur but due to blockage this process fail and cant uptake the proper nutrients. This can lead to decreased crop yields, forest dwindle, and disruption of ecological balance.

Water Contamination: Particulate matter deposited onto water bodies can affect aquatic life. Pollutants like heavy metals and organic compounds, which can accumulate in aquatic organisms, leading to destroy the food chains.

Soil Degradation: Deposition of particulate matter on soil surfaces can change the soil pH and nutrient availability, badly affect on soil fertility and productivity.

Health Impacts: Inhalation or intake of PM can cause respiratory and heart diseases It increased mortality rates in human and healthcare costs. Additionally, it also has adverse effects on wildlife health.
Acid Deposition: Certain types of particulate matter, such as sulfates and nitrates, when they combine with water vapor in the atmosphere cause acid rain. Acid rain can damage soil, water bodies, vegetation.

 Solution to preserve Environment
